Bill help center
Fix common electricity bill problems before you escalate
Most WAPDA and DISCO billing issues become easier when you separate the problem into one of four areas: reference number, duplicate bill loading, usage/tariff change, or payment posting. Start with your official duplicate bill, then use the right office or guide for the next step.
Common questions
My electricity bill is higher than normal. What should I check first?
Compare current units with last month, then look at FPA, taxes, arrears, and whether your usage crossed a higher slab. A small unit increase can feel much bigger if it pushes you into a new tier, especially during AC or heater season.
I lost the paper bill. How can I find my reference number?
Check older PDFs, bank app history, wallet payment receipts, SMS alerts, or a previous tenant/landlord copy. The reference number normally stays the same unless the meter/account changes. If you still cannot find it, use your DISCO customer care or subdivision office.
The duplicate bill is not loading. What should I try?
Re-enter the number without spaces, confirm the selected DISCO, and retry after a short pause. PITC-linked bill portals can slow down during heavy traffic. If it keeps failing for more than a day, contact the company that appears on your printed bill.
Can I pay directly through QuickBill?
QuickBill is for viewing and opening duplicate bills. For payment, use bill payment methods such as bank apps, JazzCash, Easypaisa, ATM/branch counters, or other authorized channels shown by your utility provider.
What is FPA and why does it keep changing?
Fuel Price Adjustment is a separate bill line connected with generation fuel cost changes. It can move up or down even when your monthly units look similar. Read the FPA guide before assuming the meter reading is wrong.
What are peak hours on a TOU meter?
Time-of-use meters charge different rates for peak and off-peak windows. If your bill has separate registers, shift flexible loads like washing, ironing, pumping, or heavy cooling outside peak time where possible. The tariff guide explains how this connects with slabs and final charges.
My area has a power outage. Is that a bill problem?
No. Outages, feeder faults, and load management are handled by your local distribution company. Use the helpline, complaint center, or local office listed in customer care resources, not a duplicate bill website.
The meter reading looks wrong. What should I do?
Note previous and current readings, take a clear meter photo if it is safe, keep your reference number ready, and submit a complaint through the DISCO. For physical visits, use the DISCO offices guide to understand which office level fits your issue.
Is an online duplicate bill accepted by banks or landlords?
Most routine payment and record workflows accept a duplicate bill opened from the official bill path, but each bank, landlord, employer, or document office can set its own requirement. Save the page as PDF and keep the payment receipt with it.
How do slab rates work on domestic bills?
Slabs are monthly usage tiers. When your units rise, some charges may move into a higher price band. The slab benefit and slab jump guide is the best next page if your bill jumped after only a modest usage change.
Is QuickBill an official government or DISCO site?
No. QuickBill helps you reach duplicate bill and utility information faster. For account corrections, meter replacement, outages, new connections, or legal disputes, use the relevant official DISCO channel.
Can commercial or industrial users check bills too?
Yes, if the connection is served through the same DISCO bill system and you have the correct reference number. Commercial and industrial bills can include different tariff categories, taxes, demand lines, and payment rules.
What is the difference between WAPDA and my DISCO?
People often say WAPDA bill for convenience, but your local DISCO issues the bill and handles customer matters. NEPRA, PITC, and wider sector rules shape tariff and data systems. The Pakistan electricity sector overview explains the roles in plain language.
How can I reduce my electricity bill?
Track units, service AC filters, use LEDs, reduce standby load, and avoid heavy appliances during peak windows if TOU billing applies. Start with the save on bills guide and then compare your usage trend each month.
Does Karachi K-Electric work here?
K-Electric follows a separate company setup and is not part of the standard PITC DISCO list covered by the main QuickBill electricity checker. Use K-Electric’s own official channels for Karachi and nearby areas.
Where is the reference number printed?
It is usually near the upper part of the bill, close to consumer details, billing month, and address. Labels vary by company, but it is normally shown as Reference No., Consumer Reference, or a similar numeric field.
I paid already but arrears still appear. What now?
Keep the transaction ID, receipt date, paid amount, and reference number. Allow a short posting window, then contact the billing office if the next duplicate still shows incorrect arrears. The payment guide also explains common payment channels.
Can a calculator replace my real bill?
No. A bill calculator can help estimate units and budgeting, but final payable amount, taxes, arrears, issue date, and due date must come from the official duplicate bill.
