Savings guide
The biggest savings come from controlling monthly units before you jump into a higher slab. You do not need expensive upgrades first. Start with usage discipline and high load appliances.
Focus on high unit appliances
- AC: clean filters, use moderate temperature, close room leaks.
- Electric heater and geyser: reduce run time and insulate where possible.
- Iron and cooking loads: combine tasks instead of repeated short sessions.
- Water motor: avoid overflow and fix leakage points quickly.
Track units every week
Most families review bill only after it arrives. That is too late. Track your estimated units weekly so you can adjust behavior before crossing slab thresholds. Even small daily changes can protect your monthly slab position.
Use calculators to estimate impact of a usage change before month end.
Cut standby and hidden load
Standby devices consume power all day even when you are not actively using them. TV setup boxes, adapters, routers, and old chargers add up over 30 days. Use switch control to shut idle load at night and during long daytime absence.
Check bill structure when amount jumps
High payable amount is not always only due to units. Slab movement, FPA, taxes, and arrears can also increase the final total. Review each line before assuming a meter fault.
